Lexi is only a sophomore, but she has set impressive records in her short time at Wheaton Academy. She qualified for the state tournament for the 2nd year in a row. After a tough loss in the first round, Lexi Welton came back with a great win for Wheaton Academy in the Consolation Bracket of the IHSA State Tennis Tournament. Welton won 6-3, 7-5 over Glenbrook North HS after coming back from an 0-4 deficit in the second set. It was a great win, which concludes a fantastic season for Welton. Unfortunately, after weather held up too many matches on the day, Lexi did not have a chance to advance any further because the IHSA cancelled all consolation bracket matches. Lexi's win marks the first point scored in the State Tournament for Girl's Tennis in school history! Congratulations to Lexi on a great season!
