Save the Date for Spiritual Life Week Family Night - Wednesday, February 16
The whole family is invited to an exciting event with singer/songwriter/speaker Peder Eide. Peder will be the guest speaker throughout Spiritual Life Week and this would be a great way to share the experience with your student. The event is FREE and will take place on February 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center.

Dads' Prayer - Special Guest Jim Holtrop
All WA dads are invited to our monthly Dads' Prayer. We meet on the second Saturday of the month in the historic white Chapel. We will be introduced to a different teacher or staff member each month who will share some prayer needs from a WA employee’s perspective. Our special guest for February is Jim Holtrop, Work Study/Student Events Coordinator. Make plans to join us on Saturday, February 12 at 8:00 a.m. and please be in prayer for your students, their teachers and our school.
Spring Musical Showtime and Ticket Information
Once again it is SPRING MUSICAL time, and this year the Academy Theatre is proud to present the Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast
. The performances are February 25 and 26 and March 3, 4, and 5. All shows begin at 7:00 p.m. and dessert is served at intermission. Seating is reserved so don’t wait to purchase your tickets. We look forward to seeing you and your family at the show! This year we are pleased to offer online ticket purchasing as well as the ability to purchase tickets with a credit card. Spring Musical Helpers Needed
This year's spring musical Beauty and the Beast
promises to be an exciting show. We are in need of volunteers to bake or donate for the purchase of a dessert to be served at intermission. If you would be willing to help, please email Kori Hockett
. We need helpers for the weekends of February 25-26 and March 3-5. Thank you for considering helping in this way - we truly couldn't do this without you!
Musical Props Needed
The musical is quickly approaching and the props department is in need of a few items to complete the set.
We are looking for:
1 twin size canopy bed
1 large, rustic, wood chair
1 large royal or kingly looking chair
3-4 rustic and wood bar stools.

Middle School Matinee Full
The middle school matinee performance of Beauty and the Beast
, scheduled for February 25 at 10 a.m., has been filled. If you would like to be placed on a waiting list for tickets, please contact Rachel Swanson

Financial Assistance Application
The Business Office is currently accepting financial aid applications for the 2011-2012 school year. We continue to partner with FACTS Management Company to help administer this process. Application procedures

Some important things to remember:
-Aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
-Your application is complete when all required documentation has been submitted (2010 tax return and Letter of Intent).
-When you receive your award letter, a non-refundable 5% tuition (after aid) deposit will be due within 2 weeks to lock in your aid .
-A signed enrollment contract is also due with deposit.
-Endowment Grant Scholarship applications are due with financial aid applications.
The final deadline is March 15. Please note that there is a $25 financial aid application fee. It can be paid by credit or debit card. If you have questions regarding the FACTS application, please contact a FACTS Customer Care Representative at 1-866-315-9262. Help is available M-Th 7:30-7:00 and F 7:30-5:00. An Invitation to Meet with Local Legislators Tomorrow
Head of School Gene Frost and Director of Alumni Relations Dawn Earl are looking for a few parent volunteers who would like to attend a meeting with them. The meeting is being organized by the Illinois Advocates of Educational Choice for area private school leaders and families to meet with State Senator John Millner and Representative Michelle Mussman. The purpose of the gathering is to communicate the specific issues facing non-public schools with these elected officials. The meeting is Saturday, February 12, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran School in Roselle. If you would be willing to attend or would like more information, please call Dawn Earl

Don't Forget to Sign Up for Driver's Education
In an effort to accommodate student schedules and extracurricular activities, Excel Driving School is now offering after school driver’s education courses at Wheaton Academy. Two courses will be offered each semester that will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. The next available session will run from April 4 to May 5, 2011. Sophomore Field Trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum
On March 2 the sophomore class will take a class field trip to the Illinois Holocaust Museum. March 2 is a Wednesday and students will need to arrive at WA at 8:00 a.m
. instead of 9:00 a.m. Students will be gone all day and the cost is $21. Permission slips and money are due February 23 and need to be turned in to Evan Jasper. Students need to get permission slips from their sophomore world history teacher (Nate Leman

Spring Sports/Activities Yard Sign Sale
We have WA yard signs for drama and music as well as a Warrior (generic) sign. We also have track, soccer, tennis, softball, baseball, volleyball, and cheerleading yard signs available. Click here

Parent Seminar - Saturday, February 19 AND Saturday, March 19 - 8:30-10:00 a.m.
What is and is not normal in teenage emotions and behaviors? Presented by Chris Mazarella, Psy.D.,LCPC, Heritage Professional Associates. We are offering this two times, as it has been a popular topic. This session will explore the turbulent and confusing nature of teenage emotions and behaviors. We will look at normal teenage emotions and behaviors as well as problematic emotions and behaviors. We will also discuss depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD as well as other issues common to teenagers. ACT Prep Course

A Judson University Preview Day
will take place Monday, February 21. Interested in taking a bus from WA to Judson? Pick up is at 8 a.m. and return will be 3:30 p.m. There is also an option to stay overnight on Judson’s campus, with pickup at 5 p.m. Sunday. Contact Dan Crabtree

A Trinity Christian College rep will visit WA on February 23. College reps coming in March include Union (TN), Bethel (MN), COD, Northern Iowa, North Central (MN), and Samford (AL).
Registering for the ACT
Each year most WA juniors take the ACT on the April test date. Registration is done through ACT, not through the school – we are simply a test center for the April 9 exam. Students must register for the ACT by March 4. Go to www.act.org

Spring Sport Physicals
All students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade who intend to tryout for a spring sport are required to have a current sports physical on file. Sports physicals are valid up to 365 days after the initial examination date. Students without current sports physicals will not be permitted to tryout. Contact Ryan Hall
