French Immersion at Alliance Francaise of Chicago

Lynnette Lang

Alliance Françoise is offering Wheaton Academy French students a two-week class consisting of 30 contact hours, a French cooking day at Mon Ami Gabi, and French film studies in their private theatre.  Thirty hours of immersion is roughly equivalent of 9 weeks of any course that a student can take at Wheaton Academy.  Three solid hours of French immersion each day is far superior to an hour a day.  Imagine buying software such as Rosetta StoneTM at the price of $400.00.  Most learners spend several months to a year with the course before gaining even beginner-level proficiency.  Students will need to bring a lunch or money for lunch every day.

Course requirements/prerequisites:  Yes, Application Only and Intermediate or Advanced French Student.

Open to Grades: 10-12

Fee:  $498 payable to Alliance Françoise, plus train fare (approx. $18.00)
