Mozart & Muffins
Dear WA Parents – Would you like to be a part of our new Mozart and Muffins recital program? We are looking for some homes in our community that have a room with a decent (tuned) piano in which a group of 20-24 students can gather and share music – instrumental or vocal – and enjoy simple snacks. There are several pianists and other musicians preparing an eclectic and wonderful variety of repertoire to share and all we need are spaces and places to make that music! Please contact Helen Westerfield at hwesterfield@wheatonacademy.org if you or someone you know are interested in hosting. Thank you for your consideration!

Requirements for Winter Athletics
Parents – did you know that all students who wish to try out for an athletic team at Wheaton Academy must have a current Athletic Packet and current physical uploaded into their Magnus account?  To make sure your winter athlete is eligible to try out, we are encouraging families to log into their student’s Magnus account now to make sure these documents are current prior to try outs-and will not expire during the winter season.  Students will not be allowed to try out without these documents current and uploaded in their Magnus account.  The Athletic Packet, consisting of two documents (1) IHSA Steroid Testing Form and (2) Concussion Form, must be signed by both the student and parent, and is good for one year.  9th grade physicals and pre-participation sports physicals are good for 395 days from the date of the physical.  Please take a moment to log into your student’s Magnus account now and update the required information to make sure your winter athlete is eligible to try out and continue participating during the winter season.  Winter try out dates/information will be posted in the WA Weekly and on the Wheaton Academy website in the coming weeks.  If you have questions about the athletic requirements, please email Dawn Hamm Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director at 630-562-7565.

Upcoming Events

Football Game Tonight!
We anticipate a beautiful night for our football game against cross-town rival, St. Francis. It looks to be a spirited contest. Last week’s football game was an emotional one, and I wanted to tell you how proud I was of our fans. There were times where it was tempting to voice frustration, and our community showed the witness and class that we want others to see when they come onto our campus. We all represent Jesus Christ and Wheaton Academy, and last week we did it well. I am looking forward to more of the same tonight.
