REFLECTIONS ON WHEATON ACADEMY
AND WA SOCCER

Ty was an integral part of the 2014 State Championship Wheaton Academy won, scoring 39 goals that season and assisting 15 more.  After earning almost every honor there is to earn in high school soccer, he went on to Northwestern University and had a successful four years there.   Read below how Wheaton Academy, and its soccer program, prepared him for the next steps.

IN TY'S WORDS

My four years at Wheaton Academy gave me a firm foundation to thrive in the classroom, on the soccer field, and on campus at Northwestern. At Wheaton Academy, I learned how to make my faith my own and challenge myself academically and athletically while building and practicing leadership skills. When I arrived at Northwestern University, I was ready. I was able to seek out a strong Christian community that is continuing to grow, thrive in the classroom, and become a leader on the soccer team.

JYMETTE SEAGER (TY'S MOM)

Ty’s four years at Wheaton Academy grounded him in academics, Scripture, and his love for discipleship.  At Northwestern, we witnessed Ty excel in academics and soccer; but most importantly, we watched his faith soar. He was able to stand strong on a secular campus while sharing his faith with teammates, leading Bible studies, and becoming part of a leadership team with Athletes in Action.  Ty was ready for college, in part, because of the eternal investment mentors and teachers at Wheaton Academy poured into Ty.
