Live with an American Family

One of the unique features of Wheaton Academy boarding is the HomeStay program. Instead of an impersonal dorm setting, we believe international students living with American families constantly provides a much better learning environment and provides more focused social and emotional support. Host families are chosen after background checks, reference checks, and personal interviews. Orientation and ongoing support is provided to host families as well.

Find Community at Kairos

The name Kairos comes from the Greek word for “time”. At Kairos, we set aside time each week to come together as an international community to learn what it means to live in community. We emphasize the importance of understanding and respecting cultural differences, being self-aware, being an encouragement to others, and being thankful in all things. During Kairos we share a meal together, study together, go on regular outings, and enjoy activities. We also put on an annual show to showcase our gifts and talents. Being a part of Kairos is special because it allows us to celebrate all the things that make us unique.

Start your application today

A student is considered an international student if an I-20 is required for residency AND the student will require housing with an approved Wheaton Academy family during the school year.

There are several steps to the admission process, and families are required to complete all of the steps before they can be considered for admission.

Wheaton Academy will be happy to provide a tour to any international student AFTER the family has completed the application process. Upon completion of the application process, our Admission Office will offer a tour date that works with your schedule.
