Planned & Estate Giving

Legacy Circle

Since its founding in 1853, Wheaton Academy has been dedicated to education where God is central. Today, the mission remains to nurture growth in our students through relationships, excellence, and service to the glory of God.

As we talk with alumni and families about their own role in this important work, we often learn that supporters have included Wheaton Academy in their estate plan or are considering such a bequest.

In an effort to formally recognize our supporters who are giving to Wheaton Academy in this important and meaningful way, we formed the Legacy Circle. The Legacy Circle is designed to recognize those who have remembered Wheaton Academy through a formal bequest.

The Legacy Circle was founded in honor of Dr. Eunice Ruth Wilson (1930-2007), a 1948 graduate of Wheaton Academy who left the school its largest estate gift to date upon her passing.

Dr. Wilson was a radiologist who practiced in both Illinois and Michigan prior to her retirement to Colorado. An avid sports enthusiast, her interests included running, golf, sailing, windsurfing, and especially mountain hiking. A world traveler, Dr. Wilson trekked in Nepal, climbed Mt. Kenya in Africa, and at age 70, climbed Longs Peak for the twentieth time.

A faithful and generous giver who wanted to honor God with her money, Dr. Wilson’s commitment to Wheaton Academy lives on via the generous bequest she made to the school in her estate plan. In recognition of her gift, the locker rooms for present and future female athletes in the Heritage Field House are named in her honor.

Planned Estate Gifts

Planned estate gifts to Wheaton Academy can provide not only for the Academy’s goal of transforming every student entrusted to us now but also for the generations to come. Over time, a strategically planned estate gift will benefit the giver, the giver’s heirs, and the Academy.

Popular planning techniques include:

  • Wills
  • Trusts
  • Life Insurance
  • IRAs
  • Annuities

If you have already included Wheaton Academy in your estate plan, we would like to recognize you as a member of the Legacy Circle.
