“I want everyone to come here!”
Faith didn't feel at home at her old school. Hear what changed at Wheaton Academy.
Hear from Faith
I went to a public high school for two years. By the end of my sophomore year, I realized it wasn’t the place for me. I felt like I couldn’t make meaningful connections with my teachers, I felt like I couldn’t speak freely about my faith and my opinions, I just didn’t feel at home. When I transferred to Wheaton Academy, that all changed.
I was stunned when I saw just how genuine the relationships between teachers and students are; my teachers have really gone the extra mile for me, and I really look to them as mentors and friends. I was invited into the community by my teachers and my peers, and I’ve been pushed by them to grow academically and spiritually. I’ve been able to stretch myself in classes, and commit to a wide variety of activities because of the support I have here that I didn’t have at my old school.
I’ve really opened up since coming to Wheaton Academy. I came here not expecting to make friends, but when I got here, everyone wanted to meet me and get to know me, and everyone was just super friendly. Because of that, I really feel like I’m reaching my potential and becoming the person God wants me to be. I’m spiritually healthier, I engage more during class, I’ve honestly become a better person. My experience here has really been significant in my development of character.
I’ve talked to friends of mine that go to different schools, and I’ve told them that I want everyone to come here. This place has made such a ginormous impact on me spiritually, academically, mentally and emotionally, and I know it can do the same for other people.
