                                                                    “Home”

Director’s Notes

The word “home” brings to mind many different meanings or emotions.  As followers of Christ, we are assured of our eternal home, but we are also faced with the brokenness of our earthly home.  Tonight’s music explores the tension between the two.  Sometimes we rejoice in praise, and sometimes we lament in pain.  In our opening song we sing, “Hallelujah unto God’s almighty Son!”  The remaining songs share themes of both joy and struggle.  A line from our closing song says, “A little broken, little new. We are the impact and the glue, capable more than we know. We’ll call this fixer-upper home.”  May we be inspired to be impact and glue within our communities, motivated by Christ’s love and the promise of eternal home.

“Our Father refreshes us on the journey with some pleasant inns, but will not encourage us to mistake them for
home.”  – C. S. Lewis
