Alumna of the Year: Dara (Pirrie '80) Fernandes
A member of the Wheaton Academy community for more than four decades, Dara transferred to the school as a junior and later watched five brothers and five of her six sons graduate from Wheaton Academy. Since 2007, she has faithfully served as the school’s receptionist, becoming a trusted presence for students, parents, faculty, and guests. Known for her kindness, humility, and commitment to serving others, Dara has consistently pointed students to Christ through everyday interactions and lasting relationships.
Young Alumna of the Year: Annika (Pearson '15) Munson
After graduating from Wheaton Academy, where she was active in athletics, fine arts, and student leadership, Annika attended the United States Naval Academy. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2019 and served for three years as a Strategic Communications and Operations Officer in Okinawa, Japan, with deployments across the Pacific region. Most recently, Annika was appointed as a Department of Defense liaison at the U.S. Embassy in Manila before returning stateside to join the staff at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. She currently serves as a leadership and ethics instructor and company officer for the Class of 2029.
