Homecoming Day 3

Homecoming Seniors

Homecoming Day 3: Career Day Recap

On Wednesday of Homecoming Week, students celebrated Career Day. Seniors kicked off the assembly with a performance themed around “Getting the Band Back Together.” Groups of seniors represented different musical genres ranging from rock to sock hop, winning Wednesday’s award for “Best Dressed Overall.”

Students watched Tuesday’s recap video before Mrs. Klenke and Mr. Holtrop announced yesterday’s points. The seniors continue to maintain their lead at 295 points, but the Freshman are gaining ground at 210.

Next, Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors paraded across the stage in their advisory groups, featuring career-themed costumes. For the full Career Day lookbook, check out our album on Facebook.

After deliberation, our judges announced the finalists in this year’s “Best Dressed Advisory” competition.

Tied for third place, judges selected Miss Engebretsen’s sophomores dressed as tooth fairies, and Mrs. Prempas’ sophomores dressed as Starbucks baristas. Each barista called out a drink order, mispronouncing teachers’ names to the laughter of their audience.

In second place, Mr. Felinski’s junior boys dressed as a NASCAR pit crew, servicing a miniature race car on stage.

In first place for best dressed advisory, Mrs. Main’s junior girls carried pink Barbie box frames as a collection of “You Can Be Anything” Barbies.

Mrs. Klenke, Co-director of Student Events and Activities reflected,  “I love our annual Advisory Dress Day! I enjoy seeing each advisory group creatively approach the day’s theme. Students always exceed my expectations with their creativity, involvement, and presentation. Advisory groups are a strategic way for students to build relationships within their classes, and this dress up day is a fun bonding experience.”
