Homecoming Day 5: Warrior Day

On Friday morning, students gathered in chapel to hear from several distinguished alumni. Head of School Steve Bult interviewed this year’s Co-Alumni of the Year, Col. Phil Fogle ’59 and former senator Randall Hultgren ’84, along with this year’s Distinguished Young Alumnus, Brandon Chism ’04. All three shared how they grew in their faith during their time at Wheaton Academy.

“My faith became real to me here, ” shared Mr. Hultgren. “Wheaton Academy was the starting point in my faith journey.”

At the end of the school day, the Wheaton Academy drum line led students from the Academic building to the Warrior Dome for a pep rally. Students flooded the gym waving glow sticks and screaming fight songs.

The Wheaton Academy Cheer Team performed a glow stick routine in in the dark.

Finally, each class competed in a fight song competition. The juniors took second place with a jazzy performance accompanied by a saxophone. Seniors took first place with their choreographed cheer.

In the evening, alumni gathered in the atrium to reconnect with old friends over dinner and to remember God’s faithfulness at Wheaton Academy.

After dinner, student musicians performed at a homecoming program in the Fine Arts Center, and the alumni from the morning’s chapel shared their memories once again.

Homecoming Concert

The evening concluded with a varsity soccer match. The Warriors faced off with the Chargers from Aurora Central Catholic. Our team put on a strong performance, ending the night at 9-0.
