Wheaton Academy Football Players Wear Helmets Rated #1 for Safety by the NFL

At Wheaton Academy, we care about the whole person. This means caring for our students academically, spiritually, and physically. And when it comes to physical safety on the football field, Wheaton Academy is making a big investment.

Starting this fall, the Wheaton Academy Warrior football team will be wearing the VICIS Zero1 helmets. Based on a recent performance test, the VICIS Zero1 helmets are the number one helmet for reducing impact severity in professional, collegiate, high school, and youth football.

Their technology design for these helmets is fundamentally different—a collapsible shell that includes layers of cushioning in place of a hard, polycarbonate shell. Designed by neurosurgeons and engineers and tested by biomechanics, the new helmets are highly shock absorbent.

While these helmets are already worn by many NFL players, Wheaton Academy will be the first high school in Illinois to provide the advanced technology helmet to every player on the football team.

We are committed to putting our students first, and that also means taking extra measures to keep them safe on the field. Wheaton Academy is pleased to be able to provide our athletes with the best helmet protection possible.
