This fall, we welcomed the class of 2024 to Wheaton Academy. We know that starting at a new school can feel intimidating, especially in the midst of a year like 2020, but we have worked hard to make the transition as smooth as possible. On August 17, we hosted LAUNCH, a space for freshmen to jumpstart their mentorship with project IX seniors, establish friendships, and hear more about our UNITE plan expectations. Two days later, freshmen arrived back on campus for their first day of school.

With two weeks of classes already on the books, we asked our freshmen to reflect on their experience at Wheaton Academy this August. This is what they shared:

Mateo - Class of 2024

I am so grateful to be learning in an environment where students are treated with trust and respect. Here our education transcends academics to include our creative and athletic passions, all to the glory of God.

- Mateo, '24

Eastview Middle School

From my first day at Wheaton Academy I immediately felt welcomed and part of something bigger. Even through the difficult circumstances the staff, teachers, and upperclassmen have gone out of their way to make sure that I feel a strong sense of community and the love of Jesus Christ.

Ethan - Class of 2024

I am grateful for the welcoming community of Wheaton Academy where I am not only accepted by my fellow freshmen, but also by the upperclassmen who are interested in a genuine friendship with me.

I am very blessed and grateful to have the opportunity to come to school in-person this year. Although I started online and then transferred to in-person learning, I love how all the students and faculty are all very welcoming and how all my classes are rooted in a strong Christian worldview.

Sam - Class of 2024
Jay - Class of 2024

I am grateful to be at Wheaton Academy because it is a place where I can grow academically as well as openly practice my faith.

- Jay, '24

St. Rita of Cascia

I am thankful to be at Wheaton Academy because of the opportunities that I have to grow in my faith and in my life. I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful program and I feel like I have been welcomed everywhere I go.

Monroe Middle School

Scotty - Class of 2024
Megan - Class of 2024

I am grateful to be at Wheaton Academy because of the teachers, the classes, and most of all the community. I was homeschooled until now, so it is a little different, but so far it has been an amazing experience.

We are filled with gratitude as we look back on two weeks of in-person learning. We are excited to continue to provide our students with a Blue Ribbon education in new and unique ways during the 2020-2021 school year. Our team of faculty and staff remain committed to our mission—to nurture growth in students through relationships, excellence, and service all to the glory of God.
