Wheaton Academy is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon High School, one of only three private Christian high schools in America honored in 2019. A Blue Ribbon is the highest award a school in the U. S. can receive. It is awarded by the Department of Education. In order to apply for the award, a school’s students must score in the top 15% of the state’s test scores.

I love how all of my teachers are keeping their normal lesson plans and just adapting them to fit on OnCampus. They provide organization techniques, videos, and their own sense of humor so it’s just like a normal day of school.

My favorite e-learning lessons and assignments are from AP US History. Mr. Jasper does everything in his power to ensure that we grasp the information. He has incorporated a lot of interesting readings and videos into his lessons that have helped me to gain a deeper understanding the material.

Mr. D's e-learning has been incredible! Everyday he shares a worship time in his assignment. We listen to worship music, read a homily, and slow down and remember how God is still good. The lessons have been the perfect level of difficulty and length. All of our work feels beneficial to the midterm that we are preparing for. Our assignments are set up in a way that is easy to access and complete, so tech issues have not been a problem!

My teachers have done a great job creating entertaining videos. Mr. Willemssen keeps our instrumental community together with lots of funny pictures and band memes. Mr. Thornton gave us a pep talk for our reading comprehension challenge test! My AP Art History class also had a fun time keeping in touch with little life updates over OnCampus!

I have enjoyed e-learning because it gives me something to do throughout the day, but I can do it on my own time. It gives me flexibility in my schedule. I think e-learning shows us what a job could look like. You have work to do, but it is up to you to do the work in the time you've been given.
